Keep toasty warm…

Just because temperatures have dipped doesn’t mean you need to be freezing. Having said that, though, chilly temperatures also don’t mean you need to resemble a snowman, piled in all the layers. Use these simple tips and tricks to help you balance layering, so you can stay toasty warm this winter season, while still looking great.

1. Long Sleeve Undershirts Will Save You

If there’s one layering tip that everyone should know it is this: long sleeve undershirts are a must in a winter wardrobe. They don’t need to be anything fancy. They simply need to keep you warm. Because, trust us, you might think that oversized turtleneck is enough to keep you warm, but when you don’t have any fabric tight around you, cold air will inevitably blow against your bare skin. Invest in some undershirts that will sit tightly against your skin, and you’ll likely be much more comfortable this winter.

2. Never forget your hat, mitten and gloves

When you’re out and about, it’s easy enough to think that your winter coat will keep you warm, but with winter weather, wind chills can change in an instant, and we’ve got a feeling you’re not going to want to be without proper outerwear. A simple headband doesn’t take up much space in your purse, some basic mittens can easily be tucked in your coat pocket, and a stylish scarf is never a bad idea, no matter what the temperature. You can always take these pieces off if you don’t need them, but if you don’t bring them at all, when temperatures dip or the sun goes down, you’ll be sad without them.

3. Cardigans are your best friends

If there’s one fashion piece that is ideally suited for the winter months, it’s the cardigan. Cardigans tend to not be as bulky as a lot of sweaters, which makes them great for those times you find yourself in an overly heated environment. You can simply remove your cardigan in the same way you might remove a coat. So easy, and so convenient for layering.

4. Always over-prepare

When it comes to layering for winter, it’s always best to be over-prepared by layering extensively. Remember: you can always remove layers if you get too hot, but you can’t add layers that you don’t have. if you have enough room, we always suggest layering a thin pair of leggings under your jeans. This will make a huge difference in your warmth. It might seem simple, but it really is something that we strongly consider when you’re headed out for the day.

So which of these layering tricks will you be utilizing this winter? Implement all of them when getting dressed in the morning, and we’ve got a feeling you’ll be perfectly warm and cozy this winter season.
